Accreditation Follow-Up Visit Set for April 11
A three-member visiting team from the Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges will be at Fullerton College on Thursday, April 11. The follow-up site visit, led by Dr. Greg Gillespie, is the next step in the college’s accreditation process and will focus on the two recommendations for compliance related to Institutional Student Learning Outcomes (ISLOs) and Distance Learning. The site team will evaluate how the college has made improvements in both areas.
“I want to thank all the faculty and staff who have assisted in the accreditation process and have lent their expertise in addressing the recommendations,” said President Greg Schulz.
To recap, in January 2018, ACCJC acted to reaffirm the college’s accreditation for 18 months contingent on the college addressing the two recommendations. In February 2019, the college submitted a follow-up reported related to the recommendations. The April 11 visit is the next step necessary for ACCJC to affirm the college’s ongoing accreditation. The college expects to know results of the follow-up report and visit in late June.
Looking further down the road, the college’s midterm report is due by October 15, 2021. The college’s next comprehensive review will occur in the fall of 2024.
