District-sponsored Workshop on Race and Class Inequity

North Orange County Community College District Office of Diversity and Compliance and the District Professional Development committee will co-sponsor a workshop titled Challenging the Culture of Cruelty, featuring well-known author and presenter Tim Wise on Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre.

The workshop examines the ways in which American politics and culture serve to rationalize inequalities on the basis of class and race. Wise is among the most prominent anti-racist writers and educators in the U.S. He is the author of seven books, has been featured in several documentaries on CNN and MSNBC regularly, and has spent the past 25 years speaking to audiences at colleges, high school campuses, professional and academic conferences. The event is free and open to the public. Read the flyer for the event.
