Fullerton College Honors Veterans with Field of Heroes

The Fullerton College Veterans Resource Center has put together a week of activities dedicated to honoring veterans of our armed forces, November 5 – 9 including Field of Heroes, which an expansive display of flags on the quad.

Field of Heroes will be displayed throughout the week. The display commemorates service members who have lost their life since September 11, 2001 with nearly 7,000 flags, one for each fallen service member, placed on the quad. The display was first brought to the campus in 2016 and requires numerous volunteers to help set up.  Watch an award-winning video of the display from 2016.

A memorial and dedication ceremony will be held on Monday, November 5 at 12 – 1 p.m. on the quad. Additional events during the week include:

  • Veteran Student Forum on Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the VRC, Building 500, Room 518
  • Movie and Discussion on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the VRC, Building 500, Room 518
  • Vets Appreciation Lunch on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the quad

In addition, the VRC is hosting a Care Package Drive to support troops overseas. Items can be donated to Room 518 through Nov. 16. See a list of items needed.
