Learn What It’s Like to Be an Engineer: Nov. 20
Come learn what it’s like to be an aerospace engineer! Quentin J. Lindsey, Ph.D., a lead engineer at AeroVironment, Inc., a Monrovia-based company specializing in unmanned aircraft, will be giving a talk at Fullerton College.
He’ll shed light on the daily life on an engineer for potential STEM students. “Engineering is a wildly varied field of study and career path,” he said. “Specialties such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, nuclear, etc. are so unique that it’s hard to imagine just what an engineer is and does.”
Lindsey, who heads the Quantix product line, has been with AeroVironment since 2012. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from Yale University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Pennsylvania. Other AeroVironment officials will be at the event to discuss internships with interested students.
The Natural Sciences Division is hosting the event, which is part of a series of five speakers planned for the fall semester.
“The goal behind this seminar in specific and the seminar series in general, is to give students an opportunity to hear about current STEM research as well as provide an opportunity for them to interact with professionals in the field,” said Richard Hartmann, dean of the Natural Sciences Division.
Refreshments will be served.
