National Hispanic Heritage Month Kicks Off With Bienvenidos!

Fullerton College will kickoff the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month with the annual Bienvenidos (Welcome) event hosted by the Cadena Cultural Center on Tuesday, September 17 in the quad. Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated September 15 to October 15.

“Bienvenidos is a welcome event designed to introduce students to academic divisions, student clubs and resources in a fun and festival type setting” said Cadena Cultural Center coordinator Gilberto Valencia.

The event will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature student club and academic information booths, activities, music, and more.  It also celebrates the Hispanic and Latino community.

Later in the month, the Cadena Cultural Center and the Ethnic Studies Department will team up to host the Latinx Students Forum on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 224. The forum provides an educational and open-dialogue space for the campus community to reflect on the successes and challenges of the Hispanic and Latinx community.
