Speech and Debate Team Attends Las Vegas Classic
The Fullerton College Speech and Debate Team participated in the Las Vegas Classic hosted by the University of Las Vegas on Oct. 20-22. A total of five teams consisting of 10 students competed in both the novice and junior varsity division.
Joshua Kazarian was named the tournament-speaking champion in the novice (beginner) division of debate while his partner Germaine Baltazar earned an eighth place speaker award in the same division. Additionally, the junior varsity team consisting of Harut Kejejyan and Evan Jensen, along with Kazarian and Baltazar, defeated teams from the University of Southern California in preliminary rounds.
The team resumes competition Nov. 2 at CSU Northridge. The Fullerton College Speech and Debate team is coached by Jeanette Rodriguez, Toni Nielson, and Jeff Samano.
