Spring 2019 Convocation Discusses Creating Pathways of Hope for Students

Fullerton College will host Spring 2019 Convocation for faculty and staff on Friday, January 25 beginning with breakfast at 8 a.m. in the Dining Hall and the Convocation program starting at 9 a.m. in the Campus Theatre.

The spring theme is “Creating Pathways of Hope for Our Students” and will feature remarks from college and district administration, senate presidents, and a keynote from Dr. Frank Harris III who serves as co-director of the Community College Equity Assessment Lab at San Diego State University. Harris is best known for his expertise in racial [in]equity in postsecondary education and has made important contributions to knowledge about college student development and the social construction of gender and race in college contexts. His work prioritizes populations that have been historically underrepresented and underserved in education.

Faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend breakout sessions immediately following the program in the Campus Theatre. The sessions will begin at 11:45 a.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-229 and will focus on Guided Pathways and program mapping within the Guided Pathways framework.
