Summer is the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the warmer days and longer evenings. But at Fullerton College, it’s also the perfect time to for students to take advantage of an accelerated eight-week semester, become familiar with the college’s programs and services, or for youth to participate in one of the many summer enrichment opportunities.

Here are highlights of other summer activities available at Fullerton College:
CDES Lab School
Fullerton College’s preschool, known as the Lab School, has a robust summer program for FC’s youngest Hornets. Enrollment is open to all children ages 2 years to 5 years old and is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority however is given to Fullerton College faculty, staff, and students. Once a child is enrolled they are continually enrolled until they are kindergarten eligible or if the child’s family decides to move to another program.
2017 Hands-on Science Summer Programs
Monday, June 5 –Thursday, June 22
Presented by OC Biotech Education Partnership and co-sponsored by Fullerton College, one-week summer camps are available to students in grades seven through 12. The four-day camps explore different science-related careers and use college-grade equipment for a hands-on learning experience in forensic science, genetics, and medical applications of Biotechnology. Basic Skills Summer Embedded Tutoring (SET) Program
Monday, June 12 – Wednesday, August 2
The program provides in-class support and tutoring for students enrolled in English 60 and 99 over the summer with the goal of providing academic support to students in their summer English courses. Tutors work with students in one-on-one and group sessions. Embedded tutors also serve as a gateway for students to other campus resources. SET is an early intervention for students new to Fullerton College to build long-lasting connections to services such as the Writing and Tutoring Centers.
Summer Swim Lessons, Summer Swim Team, and Springboard Diving

Run by the men’s water polo coach and head of the FC Scuba program, Rhett Price, Fullerton College offers one of the best summer swim programs in Southern California. Class levels range from parent & me (age three and under) to intermediate for $50 per child/per session, or students can take advanced instruction in the Summer Swim Team and Springboard Diving programs. Summer STEM Institute for Future Teachers

Cal State Fullerton
Students in this program will receive valuable training and teaching experiences during the summer program presented by the Orange County Teacher Pathway Partnership with Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College. Activities include science lesson training with a JPL/NASA educator, teaching at a summer youth program, a field trip to Pasadena’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. FC Miles – Math Institute For Learning Enhancement Success
Option A: Tuesday, June 20 – Thursday, July 13 (3 days/week; 4 weeks) or Option B: Tuesday, June 20 – Thursday, July 27 (2 days/week; 6 weeks)
Students participating in this program develop their math skills through enhanced learning, tutoring support, success workshops, and a supplemental online software support system which is intended to help students accomplish higher levels of math skills. 2017 Fullerton College Directors Festival

Bronwyn Dodson Theatre
Student-, alumnus-, and faculty-directed productions ranging from 10-50 minutes in length are performed throughout adjudicated evening productions. Designed to ease new college students’ transition to FC, this program offers students the opportunity to complete one transferable unit in three weeks. Students will learn survival skills necessary for college success, build self-confidence, and learn how to utilize campus resources. Fullerton College Quad
The campus will welcome all new and returning students on Saturday, Aug. 19. Most campus services will be operational and available. Students can pick up their campus ID’s, pay fees, buy books, participate in campus tours, and receive helpful information from various campus programs to be fully prepared for the start of the fall semester.
