Fullerton College students in the Automotive Technology Department had the opportunity to network with some of Orange County’s top dealership service directors and shop managers during the Dealership Career Event held at Fullerton College on November 14.

Through a partnership with Orange County Automobile Dealers Association (OCADA), more than 30 students participated in the event, which hosted representatives from Rennick Suburu, Tustin Toyota, and Lexus of Westminster.

“Fullerton College Auto Technology instructors run an incredible program that prepares students to begin their career at one of the 122 Orange County dealerships,” said OCADA member services manager, Kim McPhaul. “Our members who attended the career fair appreciated the opportunity to meet the next generation of technicians.”

Students learned about paid training opportunities, positions in state-of the-art service centers, and learned about the many benefits of working at one of Orange County’s 122 dealerships. OC dealers make up a $12 billion industry and employ 12,000 people.

“The Career Fair was a great opportunity for the Fullerton College Auto Technology program to partner with OCADA and local auto dealerships. I am pleased OCADA is providing opportunities to hire our students and perform high-quality service in the automotive industry,” said Dean of Technology and Engineering Ken Starkman.

The Fullerton College Automotive Technology Department offers seven certificate programs including Automotive Management and Automotive Service Advisor, among others, as well as one associate degree in Automotive Technology. For more information contact 714-992-7585.
