Les-Sie’ Crockrom Receives Fall Classified Employee Recognition Award
Les-Sie’ Crockrom of Student Activities has received the Fall Classified Employee Recognition Award. Crockrom is an administrative assistant in the Office of Student Activities, and was presented with the award during the Classified Senate Meet-and-Greet reception on November 7.
Crockrom was nominated anonymously by her peers and students who recognized her contributions of empathy, inclusiveness, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment in which students feel safe, and feel the freedom and motivation to be creative, artistic, and thereby successful learners.
Her nominations also included statements about her effective work with two major events on campus – Students of Distinction and Commencement. In the 15 years she has been employed with Fullerton College, Crockrom has long established relationships with vendors that played key roles at these two important events, one nominator said. In addition, Crockrom’s creativity shines through her involvement on several committees across campus. But her nominations focused primarily on her ability to understand students on a human level.
“This individual transforms and inspires the lives of those who come into contact with her… she is someone here at FC who deeply cares about you as a person and as a human being,” a nominator shared.
Crockrom has worked as an administrative assistant in the Office of Student Activities since 2002. Upon receiving her award, Crockrom shed tears of joy and was surprised to hear she had been selected among her peers.
The fall recognition award makes Crockrom eligible to receive the Classified Employee of the Year Award, which is typically announced at the Classified Staff Appreciation Lunch in June each year. Candidates for the Classified Employee of the Year are recipients of the fall and spring recognition awards. For more information on Classified Senate visit http://classifiedsenate.fullcoll.edu/.
