1965 Championship Team Honored at the 93rd Key to the County Game

The 93rd Annual Key to the County Game was played on Oct. 17 at Yorba Linda High’s Nathan Shapell Stadium as the Hornets retained the key for the 9th consecutive year defeating Santa Ana College 20-14.

Members of the 1965 Junior Rose Bowl National Championship team were honored at halftime to observe the 50th anniversary. Attendees included Coach Al Feola, Bill Chambers, Bill Darke, Bob Requeho, Bob Anderson, and Billy Vasquez. Also in attendance were many players and fans representing the Hornet Nation such as Jim Fassel, Coach Glenn Thomas, NOCCCD Interim Chancellor Fred Williams, FC Interim President Greg Schulz, BOT M. Tony Ontiveros, and BOT Leonard Lahtinen.
