Gala Celebrates 5 Notable Honorees, 60th Anniversary
The Fullerton College Foundation, will celebrate its Diamond Anniversary with the 3rd annual President’s Gala on Saturday, October 19, at 5 p.m. The President’s Gala will recognize five individuals whose contributions run deep in education, the business community and the nation and who have each contributed their time, talent and vision in serving Fullerton College students.
The honorees are:
- Sylvia Mendez – President’s Award for Outstanding Leadership
- Jim Moore – President’s Award for Outstanding Service in Education
- Rufina Perez Gutierrez – President’s Award for Honorable Student Veteran
- Bob Jensen – President’s Award for Outstanding Service in Education
- Paul Dunlap – President’s Award for Outstanding Service in Philanthropy
“We are so fortunate to honor these five individuals and thank them for the positive impact they have made throughout their careers and/or service to our country,” said Chuck Allen, executive director for the Fullerton College Foundation.
The President’s Gala supports the Foundation’s endowed scholarship programs that enable students in nearly every field of study to achieve their educational goals. More than 14,500 scholarships have been awarded over the years.
“For 60 years the Fullerton College Foundation has provided steadfast support to our students through their generous scholarship program. The President’s Gala plays an important role in enabling the Foundation to continue supporting our students,” said Fullerton College President Greg Schulz.
The Gala will feature more than 150 silent auction items along with a live auction showcasing exclusive travel and other experiential packages. The night will also include a wine pull and an opportunity to give directly to scholarships through a live “fund-in-need” portion of the dinner program. Guests will enjoy a three-course meal with wine and live music performed by talented faculty from the Fullerton College Music Department.
Individual tickets are $150 and there are sponsorship opportunities available. The Gala is black-tie optional and will take place in the Fullerton College quad and Campus Dining Room.
