5,000 COVID-19 Vaccinated Students Entered to Win $200 Bookstore Vouchers

Up to 5,000 Fullerton College students, with an uploaded vaccination record in the NOCCCD portal (myGateway), will win a $200 Bookstore voucher thanks to a new vaccine mandate incentive program offered by the North Orange County Community College District. The random drawing will take place on Nov.  15.

NOCCCD launched the incentive program for COVID-19 vaccinated students on Nov. 8. 5,000 students at each of the three NOCCCD schools who have uploaded their COVID-19 vaccination record to myGateway by Nov. 15  will be selected at random to receive the bookstore credit, which can be used at the Fullerton College Bookstore or Cypress College Bookstore by April 30, 2022.

Funding for the incentive program is supported by the federally funded Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). The U.S. Department of Education awarded $76.2 billion to higher education institutions across the United States to assist colleges and universities in responding to the pandemic. A portion of these funds was allocated to directly support students with the greatest need via emergency grants.

On Aug. 24, the NOCCCD Board of Trustees approved a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for employees and students who attend classes on campus. The mandate, which required employees and students who attend classes on campus to be fully vaccinated and upload their vaccination record to myGateway by Nov. 1, is now in effect.

Unvaccinated employees and students who attend classes on campus are required to complete weekly, on-site testing through the end of the year. Beginning in the spring semester, unvaccinated students will not be allowed to register for on-campus courses, unless they have an approved exemption. Employees and students are encouraged to clear their COVID-19 compliance status at this NOCCCD website.
