Fullerton College Celebrates Black Student Success Week 
Fullerton College celebrated its seventh annual Black Student Success Week with the theme, Revolution: (Re)Defining Black Student Success.  

During this recognition week, the Umoja Village hosted special Black Hour webinars with different topics designed to help our Black students. Our Division of Ethnic Studies and Student Equity also held a Centering Black Brilliance session for students interested in learning more about Africana Studies at Fullerton College. 

Earth Week at Fullerton College Honors 10 Years of Excellence 
Earth Week at Fullerton College celebrated 10 years of sustainability excellence at its Earth Day Symposium: Climate Change from the Streets. The event invited Associate Professor of Environmental Planning and Policy at UCI, Dr. Michael Mendez, for an insightful keynote presentation based on his award-winning work. We’re so grateful for this effort led by Earth Science Professor, Dr. Roman De Jesus and NOCCCD Director of Sustainability, Tyler Deacy. 

Grads to Be Team Leads Impactful UndocuAlly Training 
Grads to Be program leaders, Dr. Connie Moreno Yamashiro and Julio Reyes Cabezas, recently led the Undocumented Student Ally Training for 1,000 participants of the State Chancellor’s Office. An impactful webinar, Fullerton College was praised by state officials for its top-notch efforts in leading this statewide training. Our college commends Connie and Julio for their shared expertise, leadership and compassion. 

Hall of Fame Unites Historical Athletes 
Fullerton College’s Athletic Hall of Fame inducted many Hornets from across the years as Hall of Famers. Among the honorees was D’Angelo Ross, who played football at FC in 2015 through 2016 and has been a pro NFL football player for eight seasons. Today, Ross is with the Cleveland Browns. He expressed his gratitude for Phil Austin – an incredible professor and coach on our campus for helping him achieve his goals in life to be a pro athlete, a great father, husband and son. 

Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society Celebrates 100 Years 
Our college held its 100th anniversary for the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society, which was founded at FC by our first administrator, William Boyce. It was great to attend the event with Faculty Advisors Dr. Nick Arman and Marwin Luminarias. We welcomed over 350 students and advisors from across the state for the annual convening. I met alumni from the medical, software engineering and law sectors, as well as all former AGS participants. 

Capital Projects Team Earns Education Under $50M Accolade 
Our Capital Projects team recently won the CMAA Southern California Project Achievement Award for the Historical Renovation of Building 300 in the Education of Under $50M category. The team, led by our VP of Administrative Services, Henry Hua, will be honored at the 33rd Annual Awards Gala in May.
