ID Verification – Why it Matters When Applying
Fullerton College launched CCCStart, a new application experience for applicants on September 30, 2026. As part of the new application, identity verification will be an important part of the student entry process.
New students will be asked to verify their identity and can verify their ID immediately through a variety of methods:
- CA DMV Wallet – Best if you have a valid California Driver’s License or ID
- ID.me – Best if you live outside of California or if you cannot use CA DMV Wallet
- Verify Later with Socure – Best if you want to finish your application before verifying your identity – you can verify your ID later online with Socure.
How Identity Verification Works?
- Step 1: Get Started with CCCStart – Create or sign in to your OpenCCC account, select Fullerton College, and begin your CCCStart journey.
- Step 2: Choose Your Identity Verification Method – Verify right away with CA DMV Wallet or ID.me, or select Verify Later and continue through CCCStart.
- Step 3: Submit Your Information – If you selected Verify Later, you can submit your information, but your submission will remain on hold until identity verification is completed.
- Step 4: Complete Any Remaining Verification – If verification is still needed, please check your email. Fullerton College may send you a secure Socure verification link. In-person verification is also available.
