Professional Development Funds Available to Staff, Faculty
The Staff Development Office is excited to announce that funding is available for staff, faculty and managers for professional development and conference attendance during the fall and spring semesters.
“One of the goals of Staff Development this year is to encourage participation from all groups on campus to apply for funding and to engage in the variety of professional learning opportunities available to them,” said Jeanne Costello, staff development coordinator.
Details about the application process are posted on the Staff Development website along with upcoming workshops open to all FC educators. A complete application will require review and completion of:
- Professional activity request form
- Dissemination plan guidelines
- Dissemination plan ideas
- Staff Development list of recommended conferences
- Directions to apply for funding and instructions on reimbursement of expenses
“The important thing is to apply for funding early,” Costello said. “Because the Staff Development Committee only meets twice a month to approve funding requests, interested applicants should review the list of recommended conferences and plan ahead.”
A funding request for a professional development activity or conference that will take place between now and February 2016 should be applied for no later than Dec. 4. Applicants are also required to submit a dissemination plan, which describes how the activity or conference will be shared with target groups on campus.
