EV Charging Stations Available at Fullerton College

Three electric vehicle charging stations have been installed near the Fullerton College parking structure located off of Lemon Street. The stations, which have the capacity to serve up to six vehicles at any given time, are available at no cost to students, staff and the community.
“Fullerton College is deeply interested in and committed to environmental sustainability,” said Vice President of Administrative Services Richard Storti. “Discussions and collaboration among students, faculty and staff during the fall 2015 term considered improving sustainability and resulted in a recommendation and approval for the three EV charging stations.”
According to Storti the installation is the first phase of an ongoing environmental sustainability project. The college is investigating the use of solar panels to supply power to the charging stations.
The six spots designated for EV charging will be open to the community at no cost and will not require a parking permit during vehicle charging, however a maximum four hour time limit will be enforced.
“Having these stations available at FC is not only a great service to our campus but also to our surrounding community,” said Director of Facilities Larry Lara, adding that the nearest EV charging station is located about a half a mile from the campus and charges a fee to use the stations.
The Fullerton College EV charging stations are administered through a partnership with ChargePoint, the largest network of independently owned and operated EV charging stations. Electric vehicle drivers will need to establish a ChargePoint account in order to use the stations at the campus. To register for a ChargePoint account visit https://na.chargepoint.com/register
