Fullerton College Competitors Take Top Awards at CSUF Blumer Tournament

Fullerton College competitors took top awards at the 23rd Cal State Fullerton Blumer Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 12. Facing teams from CSUF, CSUN, and CSUM, Fullerton College’s Rohan Shah and Ryan Martinez took first place in debate with a 4-0 record, while partners, Nakota Arrona and Mariah Duran took fourth place with a 3-1 record. Members of the team also dominated top speaker awards as Ryan Martinez, Alyssa Aguilar, and Nakota Arrona took first, second and third place speaker respectively, while Rohan Shah earned a sixth place speaker award.

In individual events Fullerton College’s Olivia LeValley took home a first place persuasive speaking award while teammate Jonah Stoffers earned a third place informative speaking award.

The Fullerton College Speech and Debate Team is led by faculty coaches Doug Kresse, Jeff Samano, and Jeanette Rodriguez.
