Active-Shooter Drill Set for March 8
On Wednesday, March 8 at 10:15 a.m., Fullerton College will participate in an active-shooter emergency drill.
The drill will be initiated and ended through live announcements delivered through the Cisco phones located throughout campus. At 10:15 a.m., people on campus will be directed to shelter-in-place/lockdown, view an educational video on active-shooter situations, and then discuss preparation methods in their classrooms and offices.
During the drill, all students and staff on campus will be asked to view a video on active-shooter situations titled “Shots Fired.” The video can be found at http://campussafety.fullcoll.edu. The video requires FC credentials and can only be viewed from a Fullerton College computer.
While a real threat may be much different than a drill, the key to minimizing the number of casualties in an active-shooter situation is knowing how to respond. The Office of Campus Safety has designed an Active Shooter Emergency Plan which can be viewed at http://campussafety.fullcoll.edu under the “Emergency Preparedness” link.
Any questions regarding the drill can be directed to the office of Campus Safety at (714) 992-7081.
