District Resolution States Support for Students and Privacy of Student Records
The North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees passed a resolution titled “Support for Students and Privacy of Student Records” at its meeting on March 14. The district resolution “seeks to reassure students and our community that our campuses will remain welcoming places for students of all backgrounds to learn; that no changes have been made with regard to admissions or financial aid; and that financial aid for certain undocumented students is protected by state law.”
The resolution declared that NOCCCD “campuses shall remain open and welcoming to all students who meet the minimum requirements for admission, regardless of immigration status, and that financial aid remains available to certain undocumented students.”
The resolution passed 8-1 (two of the votes cast were student advisory votes from the student trustees from Fullerton and Cypress colleges). Read the full resolution here.
On February 16, the Fullerton College Faculty Senate passed a similar resolution.
