Fullerton College Launches Internship Program for Business and Computer Information Systems

Fullerton College has launched its Internship Program and is now offering internships in the areas of Business and Computer Information Systems for academic credit (BUS 295 F and CIS 295 F). The college is looking for local employers who would be interested in having interns during the fall, spring, and summer terms.

As described by the National Association for Colleges and Employers, “An internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths; and give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent.”

Students enrolled in the Fullerton College Internship Program work at a site related to their major, while earning academic credit as supervised by a faculty member. The internship requires a number of hours of work for each academic credit earned. A “learning agenda” is structured into the experience with learning activities that include learning objectives, observation, reflection, evaluation, and assessment.

To help make the experience seamless for employers, Fullerton College utilizes FCCareerConnect, a Career Management System powered by Symplicity. This system is designed to increase effective communication between students, faculty, and employers.
