Fullerton College Celebrates Halloween with Quad Haunt and Movie Night

Associated Students’ annual Quad Haunt event will return Oct. 31 and brings together the campus community to celebrate the spookiest day of all. This year’s Quad Haunt will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature costume contests, a pumpkin pie eating contest, club booth contest, and a pumpkin judging contest.

“Our newest addition is the pumpkin contest, where students bring a carved pumpkin to campus to be displayed and judged by guest judges,” said Stephanie Rodriguez, student services specialist. “Quad Haunt is very exciting. We put in a lot of hard work into this big event.”

Prizes will be awarded for each contest including a pair of Knott’s Berry Farm tickets for first place in the pumpkin contest. The costume contest will be divided into three categories: individual, duo and group and prizes range from gift cards to gift baskets with A.S. merchandise and candy. Student clubs will also be decorating their booths for a chance to earn some funds for their club.

Quad Haunt will also serve as a Club Rush for A.S. and gives students an opportunity to connect with student clubs and organizations on campus.

With midterm elections right around the corner, general information such as the nearest polling locations will also be provided to help students feel more confident in the voting process. Sponsors for the event include A Band of Voters and #VoteTogether to encourage voter participation.

In addition to Quad Haunt and to help build up the Halloween spirit, Student Activities will host a frightful movie night on Oct. 30 from 4 – 6 p.m. in the Student Center. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

“We’re opening the student center for students that want to come in, relax and enjoy a movie with others,” said student services specialist Alicia Contreras. “A get-together before the real fright begins on October 31.”
