Transfer Application Season is Now
Transfer application season is upon us and the Fullerton College Transfer Center staff are hard at work connecting students to the resources they need.
Transfer application season begins in August and runs through the end of November. During this time, students have numerous opportunities to attend workshops or schedule a time to meet with a Transfer Center counselor.
The Application Workshop Series is designed to take students step-by-step through the transfer process and is the most comprehensive resource available to students who intend to transfer to a UC and CSU in 2020. Students may attend all or portions of the series.
“The five-part series is designed to provide students with assistance at critical times of the application cycle,” said Transfer Center Coordinator Vincent White.
The first two parts of the series offered this summer covered topics such as being ready to apply and completion of the application. Those parts of the series will continue into the fall, White said. Here’s a look at the series timeline:
- Part 1: Are You Ready to Apply? | June-September
- Part 2: Applying to Transfer (2 versions): | August-November
- CSU Application
- UC Application, TAG & Personal Insight Questions
- Part 3: After You Apply – The Next Steps | December-January
- Part 4: Admission Decisions March-April
Admitted, Waitlisted, or Denied - Part 5: The University Financial Aid Award | March-April
Budgeting for the University
All workshops are listed on the Transfer Center calendar.
In addition to the workshop series above, the Transfer Center offers individual assistance and review of any university application essay including the UC personal insight questions and the Common Application essay questions. The assistance is provided by Transfer Center staff, counselors, university representatives and many faculty volunteers in the Humanities Division who volunteer their time every year to read student responses.
“Over the years, the center has experienced an increased demand for its transfer application services,” White said. “Last year, the center had more than 3,900 visits from students seeking assistance with their CSU, UC and Common Applications so having the support from faculty and staff across the campus is important.”
“The workshops are also a great tool to help students go through the process of applying step-by-step. Once students understand the process and start early, it makes the entire experience easier to navigate and less stressful as they prepare for application deadlines,” he said.
