Actor and Activist Bambadjan Bamba to Deliver 2025 Commencement Address at Fullerton College

Bamba is known for roles in The Good Place, Grey’s Anatomy, Black Panther, Suicide Squad and Netflix’s Amend: The Fight for America. Internationally, he stars in the Nollywood film Three Cold Dishes and Canal+ series Ôbatanga.

Award-winning actor, filmmaker and activist Bambadjan Bamba will deliver the commencement address at the 2025 Fullerton College commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 31.

“His story —of resilience, creativity and advocacy — reflects the heart of the Fullerton College spirit,” said President Cynthia Olivo. “Bambadjan’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when talent is met with policies that see people —not just statistics —and create real opportunities for determination to become success.”

His distinctions include a SAG-AFTRA Award for Black Panther, Best Actor at the Idyllwild International Festival and advocacy awards from the ACLU and the National Immigration Law Center. Since revealing his DACA status in 2017, Bamba has become a prominent advocate for immigrant rights. His story has been featured in Variety, LA Times, Washington Post, CNN and the bestselling book American Like Me by America Ferrera.

“I know his words will inspire our graduates to embrace their purpose, pursue their dreams and lead with empathy —just like the Dreamer that he is,” President Olivo said.
