APIDA Heritage Month
This May, Fullerton College will celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month. APIDA Heritage Month is a month-long celebration that honors the diverse experiences, histories and identities of our APIDA communities.
Starting with the second annual “Fill Up Your Boba Cup” event, students, faculty and staff will come together on Tuesday, May 7 to participate in community-building conversations while enjoying free boba and Asian snacks. The first 50 students to RSVP and attend will receive a free gift.
Join us later in the week for an official kickoff to APIDA Heritage Month on Thursday, May 9 in the quad. Get immersed in the sounds of traditional Japanese drumming from Hikari Taiko and connect with campus and community organizations such as Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Inc. (OCAPICA), Kabataan Culture and the Orange County and Inland Empire Chapter of Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS). Light appetizers will be provided.
APIDA Cultural Graduation, the culminating event of the month, will take place on Friday, May 17 in Cruz Reynoso Hall, Building 200. All APIDA graduates must RSVP by May 1. Faculty and staff are invited to celebrate APIDA graduates at the ceremony.
