Campus Invited to Celebrate at Carnival BBQ with Chancellor Breland Dec. 1

Fullerton College will celebrate the end of a successful fall semester and the Investiture of NOCCCD Chancellor Dr. Byron D. Clift Breland with a grand BBQ and carnival on Thursday, December 1. The event is part of a three-day celebration across North Orange County Community College District and will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on the Fullerton College Quad.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to step right up for a free BBQ lunch, carnival games, and several interactive activities, such as a 360 photo booth, caricatures, and an inflatable slide.

Investitures in higher education offer a ceremonial beginning to new eras ushered in with changes in leadership at the chancellor and presidential levels. Chancellor Breland is using the opportunity to celebrate Fullerton College, North Orange Continuing Education and Cypress College with three unique events. The FC community is also invited to a community fair on Nov. 30 at NOCE and the traditional investiture ceremony, which will be held in the Cypress College theatre on Dec. 2.

“The vibrant and diverse communities we serve is what makes our three schools so special and that is what drew me to this position in the first place. It’s my honor to take this opportunity to celebrate with our campus communities,” Chancellor Breland said. “The BBQ on Dec. 1 is for our students, faculty and staff who have been working so hard all semester. I look forward to having a little fun and help our students recharge before finals.”

Attendees can expect lots of entertaining activities, music, food, carnival games, 360 photography, caricature artists and prizes. The Office of Campus Communications, Student Life and Leadership and Associated Students are collaborating with the support of the Chancellor’s Office to throw one big party on the quad.

“At Fullerton College, we are thrilled to celebrate with Dr. Breland and enjoy the end of an outstanding fall semester where we saw a real return to campus life,” said Interim President Dr. Monte Perez.

The event is free and no RSVP is required, however there will be a check-in table where guests will be given carnival tickets to pick up food and participate in games, and activities.
