Campus Safety Officers Aid in Arrest

Fullerton College Campus Safety officers aided in the arrest of a man on charges of indecent exposure on Monday, July 6. The incident began at about 7:25 p.m. in Parking Lot 6 near Sherbeck Field and ended in the arrest of Jose Mendoza-Munoz, 31, of La Habra, at Hillcrest Park at about 8 p.m.

A Fullerton College student reported seeing Mendoza-Munoz indecently exposed as the suspect watched an athletic practice taking place on the track. The student yelled to the suspect to stop. The suspect pulled his pants up, got into his red Ford F-150 pickup truck and drove away at a very high rate of speed through the parking lot.

Campus Safety officers, who were on a routine patrol of campus, saw the suspect drive left onto Berkeley Avenue. They spoke to the student who witnessed the incident and soon located the suspect in his truck at Hillcrest Park on North Lemon Street. A Campus Safety officer detained the suspect until Fullerton Police Department officers responded and arrested Mendoza-Munoz on charges of indecent exposure.
