Counselor Summit Highlights CTE Programs

The 3rd annual Fullerton College Career and Technical Education (CTE) High School Counselors’ Summit held on March 20 provided an opportunity to strengthen collaborations and partnerships with local high schools and the community.

The summit drew over 80 counselors and CTE administrators from local high schools, North Orange Continuing Education, Fullerton College staff, as well as community stakeholders. The event highlighted numerous programs such as auto technology, business/CIS, architecture, construction, cosmetology, fashion design, interior design, machine technology, printing technology and welding.

Keynote presentations were given by Ken Starkman, dean of technology and engineering, Martha Payan-Hernandez, CTE director of strategic recruitment and outreach, Gabriella Fernandez, CTE articulation coordinator, and Rita Jones, from the OC Career Café.

The CTE Summit was coordinated in collaboration with Olivia Barajas, CTE counselor, Martha Payán-Hernández and Fullerton College Counseling, High School Outreach and CTE programs.
