Dean Jorge Gamboa Named 2025 Manager of the Year
Dean of the Social Sciences Division, Dr. Jorge Gamboa, was recently named 2025 Manager of the Year. Awarded by Faculty Senate through a nomination process, the Manager of the Year accolade celebrates the hard work, commitment and positive impact made by an administrator at Fullerton College.
Dr. Gamboa’s division is comprised of the Anthropology, Child Development and Education Studies, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Geography, History, Philosophy and Religious Studies, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology departments. His dedicated staff and faculty are committed to cultivating and empowering our students as future leaders and social justice advocates.
Having proudly integrated instruction with student support services, Dr. Gamboa’s leadership prioritizes the needs of students, faculty and staff while building a culture grounded in trust, accountability and shared purpose. His commitment to teaching and learning, as central to the college’s mission, is reflected in his integration of the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American, Men of Color and Rising Scholars programs into the Social Sciences Division.
His consistent leadership has also touched our student parents and the local community, seen through the improved compliance and efficiency at the Child Development Educational Studies Lab School, Fullerton College’s official daycare and fieldwork site for Child Development and Education Studies majors.
“I strive to lead by example, with transparency, humility and a servant-leadership approach that centers on listening, supporting others and removing barriers,” said Dr. Gamboa. “This recognition highlights the work we’ve done to align instruction with student support, improve processes and foster a culture of care, accountability and innovation.”
Dr. Gamboa was recognized at the last Faculty Senate meeting of the year. After countless nominations from those he has inspired, he was honored with the accolade and words of appreciation for the differences he has made in his division and beyond.
Fullerton College congratulates Dean Gamboa for his efforts to serve and uplift those he oversees, an example of the welcoming care here on our campus.
