Debaters Earn Multiple Awards at Invitational
Fullerton College debaters prevailed against teams from Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge and Pierce College at the Spring 2017 Robert Barbera Debate Invitational hosted at Northridge on Saturday April 22. In the open division, Fullerton College’s Ryan Martinez and Luis Gudino earned a third-place team debate award. Additionally, Martinez earned a 2nd place speaker award while teammate Nick Brunet earned a 4th place speaker award.
In the novice division Trevor Buzzone and Natalie Sutka advanced to the final round and earned a 2nd place team debate award. Sutka and Buzzone also earned a 1st and 2nd place speaker award respectively.
The Fullerton College forensics team now prepares to travel to Pacific Southwest Collegiate Forensic Association Cool Offs Tournament on April 29 -30. The team is coached by Doug Kresse, Jeff Samano, and Jeanette Rodriguez.
