Debaters Take Top Awards at CSUF Blumer Tournament

Fullerton College debaters took top awards at the 21st CSUF Blumer Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14. Facing CSUF in both open and novice division finals, FC’s Zach Turner and Brian Wheat took first place in Open Public Forum Debate, while partners, Zoe Kline-Koeing and Daniel Trandell-Smoke took second to CSUF in novice speaker awards.

Members of the team also dominated open top speaker awards including, Andrea O’Loughlin, who made it to the finals in both Informative and Persuasive speaking categories. She picked up first place in persuasive and third in informative.

The Fullerton College Speech and Debate Team is led by faculty coaches Doug Kresse and Jeff Samano.
