Dr. Greg Schulz Named Interim President of Fullerton College

The North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) Board of Trustees unanimously voted Tuesday, June 9 to appoint Dr. Greg Schulz as interim president of Fullerton College. Schulz begins at Fullerton College on July 1, 2015 while a search is conducted for the permanent position.
Schulz comes to Fullerton College from the District’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) where he has served in the top post as provost for the last three years.
“Dr. Schulz has spearheaded a number of innovations as provost of our School of Continuing Education,” said Interim Chancellor Fred Williams. “I have no doubt that he will bring his spirit of inclusiveness and integrity to Fullerton College.”
Schulz began his career with NOCCCD in 2000, serving as SCE’s manager of administrative services, interim district director of fiscal affairs, and dean of instruction and student services. He worked for two and a half years at Long Beach City College as dean of trades, industrial and career technologies before returning to SCE in July 2012 as provost. Additionally, he is a certified public accountant and has served as an adjunct professor at California State University, Fullerton’s College of Education.
Schulz will step in to fill a vacancy left by President Rajen Vurdien who served as FC’s president for five years. Vurdien accepted the position of superintendent-president of Pasadena City College.

Fullerton College has earned an outstanding reputation for being an innovative, student-centered institution of higher learning that is committed to serving our community,” Schulz said. “I look forward to working closely with faculty, staff, students and our community.”
Schulz earned his associate degree in business administration from Fullerton College; bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from California State University, Fullerton; master’s degree in public administration from California State University, Long Beach; and an Ed.D. from the University of Southern California.
