Dr. Olivo Unveils Plans for the New Hornet Softball Field

On Tuesday afternoon, the Hornet softball diamond was filled with joy as FC President Dr. Cynthia Olivo unveiled the plans for the new field.

It’s been a long time coming for the Hornet softball program that first began playing on the old field off North Berkeley Avenue in the 1950’s. It’s one of the winningest programs in the college’s history with 1 national title, 2 state titles, and 14 conference titles since softball became a sanctioned sport in 1978. Prior becoming a recognized sport under the CCCAA, softball played as an intramural team under the Women’s Athletic Association (WAA).
