Elsa Perez Selected as Interim Dean of Counseling
Fullerton College is pleased to welcome Elsa Perez as the Interim Dean of Counseling. Perez has held various roles at Fullerton College since joining the college in 2010. Her roles have included Counselor, Puente Coordinator, Co-Coordinator for the Counseling and Student Development Division, and various leadership roles including Senator in Faculty Senate and representative in the Strategic Enrollment Management Committee.
Additionally, Perez engages in campus events such as KinderCaminata, Día De Los Muertos, FC Night, Mujeres Achieving Success Conference, and is often seen at most campus activities supporting students.
Perez’s connection to Fullerton College dates back to her younger years as a student. Perez completed her higher education as a first-generation Mexican-American student, born and raised in Orange County by two parents from Mexico who were previously undocumented. She is the oldest of four girls in her family and the first in her family to graduate high school then attend college.
She holds an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from Fullerton College, a bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from Cal State Fullerton, and a master’s degree in Educational Counseling from Azusa Pacific University.
Her interests include traveling, the outdoors, food, reading, cooking, arts & crafts, and spending quality time with her husband, family and friends.
Perez began her new role as the Interim Dean of Counseling on September 15.
