Faculty Senate Names Kenneth Starkman 2024 Administrator of the Year

Fullerton College’s Faculty Senate recently named Dean of the Technology and Engineering Division, Kenneth Starkman, as 2024 Administrator of the Year.

During the 2023-24 academic year, Starkman played an instrumental role in facilitating the regional Strong Workforce projects in cyber security, construction, cosmetology, advanced transportation and more.

Starkman also helped students foster networking relationships with faculty to gain additional support in their career paths or getting accepted into their dream schools. He regularly enjoys supporting students and visiting their exhibits and displays in fashion design, photography, architecture and interior design.

One of his most recent achievements includes his leadership of Fullerton College’s Applied Engineering Club as they secured first place at the NASA Minority Innovative New Designs for Space (MINDS) competition. As project advisor, Starkman spent many weekends supporting the club with their projects, financial needs and more. With his encouragement, advice and support, the Applied Engineering Team beat out other four-year schools throughout the country.

“There is a significant amount of day-to-day student and faculty support that comes through the technology and engineering office, and I am blessed to work with an outstanding staff and tremendous group of full-time and adjunct faculty who know how to reach goals,” said Starkman. “Each day, I do my best to make Fullerton College a great place for the students, faculty and staff. This involves working in the community, across the region and nationally. To observe the success of the faculty and the students is the real reward.”

The Administrator of the Year honor is an annual recognition given by the Faculty Senate. Nominations are submitted by division and voted on by the senate. Starkman was nominated by Instructor of Printing Technology, Benjamin Cuatt.
