Fall Welcome Event Set For Aug. 15
Planning and preparation are key elements needed for students to be successful in college, which is why Fullerton College’s Smart Start Saturday provides new and returning students the perfect opportunity to get started on the right track. It’s also a chance for students and their families to become familiar with the campus and learn about what to expect on the first day fall classes.
This year’s Smart Start Saturday will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is expected to draw more than 800 newly registered students to campus. The event will feature a campus resource fair on the quad, a scavenger hunt in the Library, and an opportunity for students to obtain student ID cards, pay for tuition and fees, and purchase parking permits. Campus tours will also be available.
Additionally, many of the college’s student services offices will be open and available to answer questions and provide assistance. Offices that will remain open throughout Smart Start Saturday include:
- Admissions & Records
- Financial Aid (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
- Student Affairs ID card distribution
- Bookstore
Parking is free in all student lots during the event. Students are encouraged to arrive early, bring a valid photo ID, and a printed copy of their Fall 2015 schedule/bill receipt to the event.
Although no RSVP is needed to attend, students are encouraged to join the Smart Start Saturday Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/1110717195624134/ for updates or call (714) 992-7073 for more information.
