FC Debaters Capture Multiple Awards During Halloween Tournament

Fullerton College debaters captured multiple awards at the CSUF-Fullerton College National Educational Debate Association Halloween “Swing” Tournament on Oct. 28 and 29.

On Friday, Fullerton College’s Anushri Parkih and Luigi Gutierrez took first place, with teammates Arman Abdolsalehi and Ryan Gauthier second and the team of Stephanie Swendener and Nico Fasciano third. Alyssa Aguilar and Imani Garner, Jonathan Guevara and Wedin Meza, and Mariah Duran and Nakota Arrona were fifth, sixth & seventh, respectively.

Gutierrez, Parikh and Swendener also won top-speaker awards.

Debates took place in College Park at California State University on Saturday. Fullerton College’s Alyssa Aguilar and Diana Nassar took fourth place in team debate, while three CSU Fullerton teams finished first, second, and third. Ryan Martinez and Alyssa Aguilar from Fullerton College earned first and second place speaker awards, respectively.

Fullerton College won the Halloween Swing’s Sweepstakes award, outpacing teams from CSU Fullerton and CSU Maritime.
