Free Weekly Meals Offered in Summer
Fullerton College students are invited to access free meals throughout the summer. After a successful launch in the spring, the college will continue to partner with Sodexo and Pathways of Hope to distribute pre-packed bags of groceries to students.
The Healthy Hornet Drive-Thru will operate in the summer every Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon. Diapers are provided thanks to a generous donation from the Community Action Partnership of Orange County. FC’s Student Health Services is also providing free period products and condoms to students, upon request.
The drive-thru launched on April 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the remainder of the spring semester, the service was accessed 2,259 unique times.
The drive-thru is staffed by Fullerton College, Sodexo and Pathway of Hope employees. Strict social distancing measures are in place to assure safety.
This meal service is in addition to food bank services available to students at Pathways of Hope’s Hub of Hope at Richman Park in Fullerton. Pathways of Hope also offers life skills classes, hygiene kits, diapers, transportation assistance, clothing vouchers, California photo ID referral services, and community resources and referrals. The HUB is open Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Call 714.680.3691 ext: 220 for more information.
Sign-ups are open Monday-Wednesday, visit vpss.fullcoll.edu/basic-needs for more information.
