Fullerton College Celebrates Pride Month
Fullerton College is celebrating Pride Month with a variety of activities this June. Students, faculty and staff are invited to gather in celebration, show support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and connect with campus resources.
“Our LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program team has been working hard on a Pride Month calendar of events that will kick-off June 1, including a Pride Month Mixer with free acai bowls sponsored by Ubatuba Açaí, QTBIPOC group sessions throughout the month, and other activities,” said Director of Student Development and Engagement Connie Moreno Yamashiro.
New resources and support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community have soared at Fullerton College since opening a dedicated space for the LGBTQIA2S+ Resource Program last fall. The program is located in Room 512-02 and is supported by a team of five staff members including a program lead, program liaison, community therapist, academic counselor, and a director.
The program consists of dynamic events and services created to support the needs of the LGBTQIA2S+ campus community at Fullerton College and strives to create a safe space for students to express themselves, connect with each other, and discover their unfolding identities, while prioritizing their mental health and well-being.
