Fullerton College Debaters Take Top Awards at 2017 Spring Swing Tournament
Fullerton College debaters competed against teams from CSUN, CSUF, and CSUM at the Spring Swing tournament hosted jointly by Fullerton College and CSUF on March 3 and 4.
On Friday, Fullerton College debaters Kitiny Phumchun and Alyssa Aguilar went 4-0 and won the top debate team award along with 1st and 2nd place speaker awards respectively.
On Saturday, Fullerton College novice debaters Zeal Ahir and Anushri Parikh won a 3rd place team debate award along with 2nd and 3rd place novice speaker awards respectively. Fellow novice division teammates Olivia LeValley and Jonah Stoffers won a 2nd place team debate award, with Stoffers winning a 4th place novice speaker award. Open division students Kitiny Phumchun and Alyssa Aguilar won a 2nd place team debate award along with 1st and 2nd place speaker awards respectively.
Later this week Fullerton College debaters will travel to Anderson University in Indiana to compete at the National Educational Debate Association National Tournament.
