Fullerton College Designated Bronze-Level Military Friendly® School
Fullerton College has been recognized with a Bronze level Military Friendly® School designation according to the Military Friendly® ratings and resources division of VIQTORY Media. The designation is awarded to higher education institutions each year for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students and their spouses.
Fullerton College is among the top schools in the nation evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey and an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students, and specifically student veterans.
The Veterans Resource Center at Fullerton College is largely credited for the college receiving the designation. The VRC, located in Building 500, Room 518, serves more than 1,200 veterans, dependents of veterans, active-duty service members, and reservists. Acting as an on-campus resource, the center provides counseling, workshops, and events for student-veterans year-round. In addition, the VRC is staffed with personnel who are knowledgeable about GI Bill benefits.
“Fullerton College’s commitment to serving veterans and military-affiliated students runs deep, including a Veterans Resource Center that focuses on all the needs of our military-affiliated students,” said VRC Counselor and Coordinator Nick Arman.
More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey and assessment, with only 625 schools earning a designation.
“The Bronze-level Military Friendly designation will continue to help us outreach to incoming transitioning students for assistance with their reintegration process, and help transitioning service members and their loved ones choose Fullerton College as their school of choice,” Arman said.
