Fullerton College Honors Five Newly Tenured Faculty

Fullerton College is thrilled to celebrate the tenure of five faculty members. At our college, tenure recognizes sustained excellence and a commitment to academic inquiry. It also provides a stable foundation for faculty to pursue impactful research, innovative teaching and meaningful service that contributes to the college and their disciplines. Congratulations to our tenured faculty:

Crystal Aguirre

Since 2020, Coach Crystal Aguirre has been the head coach of the Fullerton College Softball Program. Prior to that, she had been an assistant coach for the Hornets since 2011. A four-year varsity player at California High School, Aguirre was voted All-League every year she played and was also a two-year All-Area selection. A skilled hitter, Crystal batted .469 as a junior and over .500 her senior year.

In 1998, Fullerton College was her next softball destination where, as a freshman, she made a name for herself earning second Team All-Orange Empire Conference and taking All-Tournament honors at the State Finals. In 2003, she began coaching softball at Santa Ana Valley High School as the assistant varsity coach and spent four seasons coaching travel ball and giving private hitting, fielding and catching lessons.

Aguirre graduated from California State University, Los Angeles in 2007 with a bachelor’s in kinesiology and she then went on to earn a master’s degree in physical education at Azusa Pacific University along with the Presidential Honor Roll.

Christopher Andrade

Christopher Andrade has served Fullerton College as a learning disabilities specialist and disability support services counselor since 2021. Prior to joining Fullerton College, he supported students with disabilities as a Licensed Educational Psychologist at the primary and secondary education levels. It is a humbling privilege for Andrade to have had the opportunity to work with students of all ages as they routinely demonstrate their remarkable abilities to surpass barriers that once impeded their educational goals.

Andrade holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, from the University of California, Berkeley. He also earned his master’s degree in counseling through California State University, East Bay’s clinical child and school psychology counseling program.

David Jacobsen

David Jacobsen received his Master’s in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). The emphasis of his master’s thesis focused on sourcing the use of bitumen among the Gabrielino-Tongva of Santa Catalina Island using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). He also completed his archaeological field school training from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from the University of California, Riverside (UCR).

Jacobsen is also highly involved in the field as a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA), Pacific Coast Archaeological Society (PCAS) and California Cultural Resources Preservation Alliance (CCRPA). His interests include human osteology, forensic anthropology and hominin evolution.

Michael Moore

Michael Moore’s professional and academic journey began at Fullerton College, where he completed the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program in 2014. His passion for law and dedication to academic excellence led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2017. Throughout his academic career, Moore maintained a strong connection to Fullerton College, frequently returning as a guest speaker in paralegal courses. Over the course of more than a decade, Moore has cultivated significant experience in the legal field, working with a variety of law firms across Orange County.

His commitment to education and student success inspired his transition from practitioner to educator, first as an adjunct instructor and later, in 2021, as a full-time faculty member and Director of the Paralegal Studies Program. Now a tenured professor at Fullerton College, Moore remains actively engaged in the legal profession, continuing to work as a senior litigation paralegal during summer sessions. As of 2025, he marks thirteen years in the paralegal field—a testament to his dedication to both the practice and teaching of law. Outside of his professional endeavors, Moore enjoys traveling, gaming and spending quality time with friends. A lifelong enthusiast of dragons, his home and office reflect this unique passion through an eclectic collection of artwork and memorabilia.
