Fullerton College Introduces $100 Textbook Voucher

Fullerton College will introduce a $100 textbook voucher for students enrolled in 12 units or more taken entirely at Fullerton College for the fall 2023 semester. This is just one of many practices the college has implemented to make higher education more accessible and affordable. Students enrolled in the fall semester also enjoy free parking permits, free weekly groceries, and a daily voucher for the Dining Hall with a valid student ID card.

“At Fullerton College, we care about our students and understand the rising costs of higher education,” said President Olivo. “With the introduction of the textbook voucher, we hope to make our college more accessible and alleviate costs for many of our students. So far, there are 7,720 students eligible for this voucher. We are pleased this effort is helping thousands of our students to access much needed course textbooks.”

Students can redeem the textbook voucher at the Fullerton College Bookstore with the purchase of their textbook and instructional materials. The textbook voucher will only be available until Tuesday, Sept. 5, for students enrolled in 12 units or more. Students who already purchased their textbooks may request a refund to the Fullerton College Bookstore before Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Instructions for Online Textbook Purchases

  1. Go to bkstr.com/fullertonstore
  2. On the main screen, scroll down to the box that reads “Get Your Textbooks” – Enter your Banner ID to display the textbooks you need or shop by looking up your course.
  3. Choose the textbooks you want to purchase and select the format you want the material in (New, Used, Digital, Etc…) and add them to your bag.
  4. Funds are only for textbooks and will not cover supplies, clothing, gifts, or other items.
  5. Before beginning the check-out process, make sure you have popup blockers turned off.
  6. At check-out either login, create an account, or continue as a guest (we recommend creating an account so you can check the status of their order)
  7. Select how you wish to receive your books, either by shipping to your home or picking up in-store
  8. At payment method, select the box that reads ” EOPS/CARE/FYSI/VOUCHER/BOOK AWARD/VA” . DO NOT enter credit card information unless the total is greater than the funds awarded.
  9. Click on the box that reads “Student Login” and login into the MyGateway for verification. The school may then send you an OTP (one-time password) to also verify identity. Follow any prompts on MyGateway.
  10. Select the box that reads “accept terms”. Click the box that applies the appropriate payment account. Make sure to apply payment AND click the accept term box. It will not ask for a credit card, unless the balance owed is more than the allotted amount or an item isn’t covered by the award.
  11. At the bottom, review the summary to make sure payment has been applied correctly and confirm the order.
  12. Students will receive a confirmation email for the order and a second email when payment goes through with a notification the books are either ready for pickup or have shipped. If picking up in store, another email will be sent when the order is ready for pick up.

The voucher program ends on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Orders still in-process or not confirmed by 5 p.m. on the last day of the award may be canceled and may not be fulfilled.

FAQ

How do I redeem my textbook voucher?

Stop by the Fullerton College Bookstore to purchase your textbooks. At checkout, provide your student ID number to the cashier. Upon verification of 12-unit enrollment, the cashier will activate your voucher toward your textbook purchase.

I already purchased my textbooks. Can I get a refund?

Yes! Please contact the Bookstore before 9/5/23 to receive a refund.

Please note: If you drop below 12 units, you will owe $100 to Fullerton College.

I’m enrolled in Disability Support Services (DSS). Do I receive a textbook voucher if I’m enrolled in less than 12 units?

Yes! As a DSS student, you can receive a textbook voucher with less than 12 units if you have an authorized waiver from DSS. You can obtain an approved waiver from DSS after an assessment.
