Fullerton College Math Lab Renamed to Math & Comp Sci Tutoring Lounge
The Fullerton College Math Lab has been renamed to the Math & Comp Sci (Computer Science) Tutoring Lounge. The new name creates an opportunity for the lounge to highlight its unique services and clear purpose.
The tutoring lounge, led by Math & Comp Sci Tutoring Lounge Faculty Coordinator, Gregory Nguyen, was looking to represent an environment that serves all science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and non-STEM students.
“Our rename puts an emphasis on the fact that we have always offered tutoring assistance to all students enrolled in a math course at Fullerton College,” said Nguyen. “With ample study space, textbooks, white boards, qualified peer tutors and faculty supervisors, the tutoring lounge aims to be a ‘home away from home’ for many math and computer science students.”
The Math & Comp Sci Tutoring Lounge’s services include make-up test services and helping students be successful in their math classes, prepare for the next level of mathematics and acquire the skills necessary to accomplish their goals. At the lounge, students will find qualified peer tutors and faculty supervisors ready to assist with math problems or concepts in person and on Zoom. The lounge also includes a modern 25-station computer lab to provide support for computer science students.
All students using the lounge must be enrolled in Math N01, a zero-unit, zero-cost, non-credit tutoring course. Students can register for the course on the tutoring lounge’s enrollment form.
“The space is designed to be a student-friendly environment where students can collaborate and utilize peer tutors to enhance their educational experience and success,” said Dean of the Math and Computer Science Division, Dr. Samuel Foster. “We hope the updated name will encourage more students to take advantage of this incredible resource.”
The Math & Comp Sci Tutoring Lounge, formerly the Math Lab, has been in continuous operation since 1967 as an integral part of the Math and Computer Science Division at Fullerton College. The lounge is located at the Library, Room 807.

Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.-8:45 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Zoom:
Monday-Thursday: 12 p.m.-8 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
