Fullerton College Places Among Top 100 Community Colleges Eligible for U.S. Department of Education Postsecondary Success Recognition
Fullerton College is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of the top 100 community colleges in the nation eligible to apply for the United States Department of Education Postsecondary Success Recognition.
An exciting milestone, this placement reflects Fullerton College’s commitment to provide a transformative education for all students. The college offers a variety of programs designed to help them feel connected and succeed, including opportunities for student engagement, leadership development, academic success and addressing food insecurity. Whether students are looking to acquire an associate’s degree, certification or transfer to a four-year institution, Fullerton College’s student-centered practices build the pathways to meet these unique needs.
The Postsecondary Success Recognition program is a new national recognition opportunity that reimagines higher education with a new standard of excellence that supports all students to complete their credentials at an affordable rate, graduate career-ready and participate in their communities. By applying for the recognition, Fullerton College will be evaluated on its campus-wide strategy to ensure students succeed on campus and beyond.
“This recognition means so much to us here at Fullerton College because we intentionally work towards realizing institution-wide transformation while centering the needs of our students. Together, we are co-creating ways for our students’ dreams to be realized, whether it’s to transfer, to obtain a sustainable living wage career or to move up. We are making a way for our community of students who are largely Latinx, Black, Asian and Pacific Islander and first in their family to go to college while navigating financial challenges. This recognition says so much about our efforts to honor our students and to keep advancing racial equity, social justice and the liberatory educational values that we infuse in every corner of our college” said President Cynthia Olivo.
Recipients of the Postsecondary Success Recognition award will be announced by the Department of Education in early 2025. Fullerton College recently applied for this honor and is looking forward to continuing to uplift its students into a lifetime of success and prosperity.
