Fullerton College Re-Opens for In-Person Support
It’s an exciting and transitional time at Fullerton College. After nearly two years, Fullerton College is finally welcoming back students with in-person support. Student Services offices, including Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, and the Transfer and Promise Centers began providing face-to-face support Nov. 3.
Staff have been made available within most campus support offices to offer in-person services on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the remainder of the fall 2021 semester with virtual services also still available. A full reopening is expected in January 2022.
The gradual reopening of student support offices took place the same week the North Orange County Community College District Vaccine Mandate took effect. Students attending in-person classes or accessing in-person services must have a verified vaccine record uploaded in myGateway or test weekly for COVID-19 to be cleared for in-person classes or access face-to-face services. The college is offering free COVID-19 testing to all students and staff. This service is available five days a week.
Events and gatherings have also been planned to encourage students to re-engage with many of Fullerton College’s programs and services. The EOPS and Promise Programs have collaborated to host the Winter Wonderland Welcome Fair on several days in November and December. The fair brings together a variety of programs including Grads to Be which supports undocumented students and their families, the Umoja Community Program, Disability Support Services, and many others. The event will be offered Nov. 3, 4 and 18 and Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on the campus quad.
In addition, Fine Arts and Athletic events have also been made open to the public with COVID-19 safety measures in place.
