Fullerton College Softball Wins 3C2A State Championship
The Fullerton College softball team won its second 3C2A state title and first championship since 1980 with a 6-2 victory over defending champions Cypress College at West Valley College on Sunday, May 19.
Pitcher Allyson Fuentes earned the title of 2024 3C2A Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player. Additionally, Macy Brandl, Veronica Moore, Haley Garcia and Alyssa Garcia received All-Tournament honors. Led by head coaches Crystal Aguirre and Marian “Speedy” Mendoza, the Fullerton College Hornets sailed through an outstanding season, tallying 44 total victories. This surpasses Hall of Fame Coach Margo Davis’ 1988 season record of 41 wins and a 7th place finish at the state tournament.
