Fullerton College Welcomes Marshall Johnson to Lead A2MEND Program
Fullerton College welcomes Marshall Johnson as the new Special Projects Manager for the Fullerton College A2MEND (African American Male Education Network & Development) Program. Johnson joined the Student Services team on Aug. 15, 2023.
Marshall Johnson is a dedicated and passionate educator and has a long-standing history of supporting A2MEND and empowering students in their pursuit of higher education. Recognizing the power of representation, Johnson encourages and supports students to explore their passions, pursue their dreams, and become leaders within their communities.
As the leader of the A2MEND Program, Johnson will work from the Umoja Village Space while Fullerton College identifies a permanent home for the A2MEND Program.
In addition to leading the Fullerton College A2MEND Program, Johnson also serves as an assistant coach for the state champion Fullerton College Men’s Basketball team. In his role as an assistant coach, Johnson creates a safe space for the young men to express themselves, share their experiences, and support one another. His dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment has led to numerous success stories, as students not only achieve success but also develop a strong sense of identity, resilience, and personal growth.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in media studies from Azusa Pacific University, a Master of Arts in Athletic Administration, and a Master of Science in Exercise Science from Concordia University.
“Fullerton College is fortunate to have such an amazing leader serve the A2MEND Program and the Men’s Basketball team,” said Vice President of Student Services Gilbert Contreras.
