Haas Foundation Grants Over $10,000

Ten students in the machine technology program at Fullerton College were each awarded $1,000 scholarships from the Gene Haas Foundation this spring. The foundation awards scholarships to community college and vocational school students who are entering technical training programs, with a focus on machinist-based certificate and degree programs. The recipients may use their scholarships to pay for tuition, school supplies and the purchase of precisions tools used in advanced manufacturing careers.

In addition, machine technology student Margaret Berquist received the Little John Award Scholarship. The award recognizes students who go above and beyond their assigned tasks during their studies.

The foundation was created by its namesake Gene Haas, owner of Haas Automation, Inc., which is the leading builder of CNC machine tools in the United States.
