ISC Strengthens Recruitment Efforts in Asia Pacific Region
Fullerton College was selected to represent U.S. higher education at the U.S.A. Pavilion for the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2023 conference, sponsored by EducationUSA – an official branch in the Office of Global Education Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The APAIE conference was held March 13–17 in Bangkok, Thailand.
As part of the APAIE conference, a Thai-U.S. University Partnership Reception was organized by the U.S. Embassy Bangkok and Fulbright Thailand, in partnership with EducationUSA. The U.S. ambassador to Thailand, Robert Godec, hosted the reception at his official ambassador’s residence in Bangkok. The reception was an opportunity to provide U.S. and Thai higher education institutions a chance to network and connect, affording a unique opportunity for both sides to interact amongst various U.S. and Thai institutions.
Alexander Brown, Director of the International Student Center (ISC) at Fullerton College, was among the attendees at the APAIE conference. “The conference and reception was an opportunity to network and build connections with Thai and other international educational institutions and organizations – with the express intent to help the ISC achieve our long-term goals of building more collaborative and innovative partnerships with foreign institutions,” Brown explained.
The ISC is expanding its recruitment and re-engagement plan. Attendance at key conferences, such as APAIE, is instrumental in showcasing and highlighting U.S. higher education, especially from the community college experience and its benefits. ISC will continue to work to build the Fullerton College brand and expand its presence in global markets, especially the Asia Pacific region.
